Our CEO, Emi Boix, was recently interviewed on the programme Aquí se Emprende on Capital Radio, presented by Eduardo Alcalde. In the interview, Emi reviews her personal and professional history at the head of EMAC, a family business that has been innovating in the construction materials sector for 37 years.

Founded by Juan José Boix, EMAC was born out of a need detected in the ceramics sector. With just two products - one for edges and the other for steps - it began a journey that today translates into more than 5,000 technical solutions, designed to improve accessibility, safety and sustainability in architectural projects around the world.

A vision that spans generations

Emi shares how, from an early age, she knew she wanted to work with her father. Thanks to a clear and structured family protocol, the three sisters progressively joined the company, working in all areas before taking on management responsibilities. ‘Before you give orders, you have to understand things properly,’ says Emi.

This commitment to excellence is reflected in professionalised management, a highly committed team and a strong commitment to R&D&I. Today, EMAC is present in 117 countries, with subsidiaries in Italy and Miami, and a trusted network that guarantees proximity to the customer.

Innovation, sustainability and inclusion: our DNA

Sustainability is not a trend for EMAC Group, it is a commitment. Through agreements such as the one signed with the ONCE Foundation, we promote accessible solutions for inclusive construction. In addition, we develop products protected by patents, guaranteeing quality and differentiation in a globalised market. Emi also reflects on the changes in the sector: ‘They have changed the way we work, the way we design, the way we relate to each other. Technology is in everything, and we adapt our solutions to it.’

Building the future

For EMAC, the future lies in continuing to focus on the industrialisation of construction and on more sustainable products. We are part of the Spanish cluster of the industrialised sector to contribute our know-how and continue evolving with the market.
