Fire Barrier systems
what is the fire barrier system?
The EMAC® fire barrier system is designed to provide airtightness against flames, hot or flammable gases in expansion joints, which are critical points in buildings. This system aims to prevent the chimney effect between construction elements, both in horizontal and vertical orientations.
Main features of the fire barrier system:
- Airtightness: Provides effective sealing against fire and smoke, preventing their spread through structural joints.
- Certification: Its proper performance is certified through tests carried out in European laboratories.
- Fire resistance: The combination of fire barrier cords with their accessories allows achieving between 2 and 4 hours of fire resistance.
- Applications: It is suitable for use in hospitals, industrial buildings, offices, residential buildings, hotels, shopping centers, parking facilities, schools, and more.
types of fire barrier systems
At EMAC®, fire barrier systems can be classified into the following generic types:
- Fire Barrier Cords: Designed to seal expansion joints and provide airtightness against flames and hot or flammable gases. They are made of non-combustible mineral fibers and covered with a fiberglass mesh.
