Skirtings
¿Qué son los rodapiés?
Skirting boards are profiles installed at the bottom of walls to protect them from impacts, moisture, friction, and dirt, while also improving the aesthetic finish between the floor and the wall.
In architecture and interior design, skirting boards serve a dual function: protecting the base of the wall and providing visual continuity to the space. They also allow the perimeter joint between the floor and the wall—necessary in many flooring systems—to be concealed. This type of skirting board makes it possible to coordinate finishes with furniture and carpentry.
Their installation reduces the number of joints, as they are supplied in lengths of 2 or 2.5 meters, and minimizes installation time.
Types of skirting boards
There are different types of skirting boards depending on the material, the design, or the function they perform within a space.
- Aluminum skirting boards
- PVC skirting boards
- Stainless steel skirting boards
- Skirting boards with integrated lighting
