Emi Boix, CEO of EMAC® Group, candidate to preside over the Valencian Institute for the Study of Family Business
Emi Boix, CEO of our company, has announced her candidacy to preside over the Valencian Institute for the Study of Family Business (IVEFA), after the current president, Francisco Vallejo, communicated his intention not to run for re-election. Emi Boix, who has been the vice president of IVEFA since 2020, has also introduced the team that will accompany her in this "exciting adventure," which she described as "balanced, inclusive, diverse, and collaborative."
"Constituting the board has been a beautiful experience, which has allowed me to count on Valencian business families who, without hesitation, have made themselves available to IVEFA to altruistically and generously share their time and experience in representing and helping other business families," emphasized Boix.
The board of directors chosen by Emi Boix consists of Jorge Tarazona, executive at Antonio Tarazona; Euri Nácher, executive at Valoffice; Pedro Ballester, CEO at Logifruit; Pablo Serratosa, executive chairman of Grupo Zriser; Alfonso Zamorano, president of Grupo AZA; César Claramonte, CEO of Grupo Clasol; Juan Carlos García, managing director of Leonardo; Laura López, CEO of Tesela; Charo Albert, president at Aceites Albert; Javier Peirats, product manager at Reunión Industrial; Natalia Fuentes, manager at Gesvending Group; Carmen Serrano, director of Institutional Relations and board member of Cárnicas Serrano; Maite Marín, general manager at Colegios Internacionales Mas Camarena; and Raúl Carnicer from CEVICA.
Passion for family business
Emi Boix has stated that she fully shares IVEFA's purpose and feels "a deep passion for family business and the management of its legacy". Since 2008, she has been leading her family business, EMAC® Grupo, which is a leader in solutions for the meeting of materials for construction projects, alongside her two sisters, Nuria and Laura Boix.
"I aim to lead with the vision that the family business is a social good and an exemplary promoter of sustainability criteria. I propose to promote teamwork with the board of directors and the staff of IVEFA itself, and create an environment where family businesses and business families can thrive, innovate, and contribute significantly to the economic and social development of Valencia," stated Boix, the current vice president of IVEFA.
Emi Boix's project will focus on three pillars: innovation to "ensure that our family businesses not only survive but thrive in the changing economic landscape," sustainable practices, and education through training and mentorship for the professionalization of the governing bodies of family businesses.
Among her objectives, she highlighted the growth of IVEFA in the province of Castellón, both in the number of associated companies and in prestige to gain visibility in said province. She will also promote relationships within and outside the Valencian territory to share experiences and best practices that help the organization grow.
