EMAC® Group and Fundación ONCE expand their partnership to promote universal accessibility in construction.

We reinforce our commitment to inclusive design and the creation of spaces conceived for everyone.

Accessibility remains one of the major unresolved challenges in many built environments. In this context, we have renewed our collaboration agreement with Fundación ONCE until 2027, with the aim of continuing to promote universal accessibility in the design and execution of spaces, fostering more inclusive, safe environments designed for everyone.

The collaboration, which began in 2019, has enabled the development of various initiatives aimed at raising awareness within the construction sector about the importance of integrating design for all from the early stages of any project. With this extension of the agreement, EMAC® Group and Fundación ONCE reaffirm their commitment to continuing to work together to promote accessibility and to share best practices within the sector.

As a company specialized in solutions for material transitions in construction projects, we have been incorporating accessibility as a strategic pillar of our activity for years. Our catalogue includes solutions designed to improve safety, orientation, and mobility in spaces, such as anti-slip systems, level transition solutions, photoluminescent profiles, and tactile paving systems that enhance people’s autonomy.

“Accessibility is not only a technical or regulatory issue; it is a responsibility towards society. At EMAC® Group, we believe that space design must be conceived for everyone from the very beginning. Renewing this agreement with Fundación ONCE allows us to continue moving forward on this path and contribute to a more inclusive construction sector,” says Emi Boix, CEO of EMAC® Group.

A commitment that goes beyond the product

The renewal of the agreement is part of EMAC®’s strategy to promote more responsible construction, where inclusive design is understood as a transversal value capable of improving people’s quality of life. In this regard, we have recently strengthened our commitment to social awareness in accessibility by appointing world champion and Paralympic medalist Alba García Falagán as EMAC® Group accessibility ambassador—an initiative aimed at highlighting the importance of removing barriers in everyday spaces.

The extension of the agreement with Fundación ONCE until 2027 will allow the continuation of joint initiatives in dissemination, training, and awareness aimed at industry professionals, with the goal of advancing towards increasingly accessible, inclusive built environments prepared for the needs of society as a whole.
